Kama Sutra means "Manual of Desire". Kāma (Sanskrit, Pali: काम) is translated from Sanskrit as desire, wish, passion, longing, pleasure of the senses, the aesthetic enjoyment of life, affection, or love, with or without sexual connotations. Sūtra (Sanskrit: सूत्र, Pāli: sutta, Ardhamagadhi: sūya) is a collection of lines, rules, or formulas in the form of a manual.
